This record is the result of my first year spent living in Nashville, TN. The songs were written throughout the summer of 2012 with an amazing group of co-writers. In the fall I entered the studio with some incredible musicians and with the unbelievably talented Alyssa Bonagura producing. We recorded much of the tracks in just two days. Over the rest of the fall the songs took their final sonic shape between the Village Recorder in Los Angeles and Tree Top Studios in Franklin, TN. I am so proud to share this record with everyone and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. It was truly a labor of love. I hope everyone can find a song or sound to relate to, something to keep you smiling through summer or save you in tough times. Enjoy! and thank you so much for all your continued support.

Six months ago I arrived in Nashville with not much more than a few pairs of jeans and my guitars. 185 days, 22 songs, and a few extra pounds later I had the opportunity last month to go into the studio in Nashville and record 7 songs.
Right from the start everything felt right and everyone was excited. The first day in the studio reminded me why I love writing and recording music. The feeling of working without it feeling like work. Just another day of jamming while making something that will last forever.
Tom Bukovac - Electric Guitar
Chad Cromwell - Drums / Percussion
Dan Dugmore - Pedal Steel / Lap Steel / Electric Guitar
Michael Rhodes - Bass
Michael Bonagura - Acoustic Guitar
Alyssa Bonagura - Producer / Piano
With David Kalmusky on the board!!
These guys breezed through 7 songs in one day. The second day we returned to Addiction to cut vocals and to do a few overdubs on the songs. Alyssa took a more Rick Rubin approach to producing the second day.
Can't wait to finish the songs up and release them to the world. Keep your ears burning.
September. Fresh off the plane from LA and I found myself at 4 am rolling toward BNA in Nashville bound for NY to celebrate my quarter life crisis. I had no idea what to expect from the greatest city on earth. I had been there before but never like this!!!!
Cool door in the Meat Packing District.
We decided that we should make this trip a David Chang vacation. This is Momofuku. The best Best best hangover cure in the world! We had Ssäm for dinner and then Ma Peche later that week. Hah. In my defense they are all completely different. If I had to have a last meal this Ramen bowl would be it. It is seriously amazing! Do try it.
Rooftops of the Meat Packing District with my LOVE Alyssa Bonagura.
More rooftops in a concrete jungle. View from the hotel room. Beautiful. I have so much respect for what NYorkers do and go through everyday. Trekking this town took it's tole. Love the city life but Nashville is where I need to be right now. I'll see you soon NY. I turned 25 in the most incredible way I could have imagined.
